It’s been a long time, and I can hardly wrap my mind around the fact that it’s happening, but…

I’m directing Merry Wives of Windsor at Quill Theatre for the Richmond Shakespeare Festival! We’ll be performing in the gardens at Agecroft Hall. This is going to be super fun!

Falstaff with Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Page (Shakespeare, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Act 5, Scene 5), drawing by Henry Fuseli, held at the Met

I know not everyone loves Merry Wives, but I have always had a soft spot in my heart for it. I spent the past week on cutting and doubling, and came up with some stuff I’m pretty happy about. Rehearsals start in mid-April. Show dates are June 2-26.

Auditions are this weekend. So if you’re in or around Richmond (or in Charlottesville or Staunton or Harrisonburg and don’t mind a drive), and like to be paid for acting, come play with me! Audition info is on Quill’s site.

….I sure hope I remember how to run an audition.
